It was a Microsoft Teams call, so nobody was wearing a mask, at least while they were on camera. The program itself was like a trip in a time-machine going back to the 1970's and 1980's. The 2 videos that the presenter put on the screen were a clip from "9 to 5", and some dramatization of Megan what's-her-name and Fox News. The only things missing from the past were polyester leisure suits and Helen Reddy singing "I am Woman, Hear Me Roar". There were no questions at the end, because apparently everybody in the audience had seen all of this before.
Anyway, the whole 45 minutes seemed like a way to preserve past perceptions of issues important to the base. It did seem strange that during the entire presentation, the presenter only referred to 2 genders. Since the governor has a cousin who makes Rachel Levine look realistic, it can't be long before the other 55 genders get representation in Illinois.
