The generation and distribution capacity to “fuel” all those chargers doesn’t exist. That will lead to reduced charging speeds, even from “fast chargers”, or no charging at all. Long lines will develop at some locations, fights will break out, maybe shootings. Carjackers and other varieties of criminals will target charging locations since they know people will be stuck there potentially for hours. Copper thieves will steal charging cables further reducing the availability of chargers. We’ve heard about “food deserts”, we will see “charge deserts” in crime-ridden urban areas. People will wisely avoid charging at night, making daytime charging that much more difficult.
