The votes aren’t there because GOP Reps from purple districts know pursuing it without slam-dunk evidence is political suicide. Ant Rep not in a safe, deep red, MAGA district is going to think twice about tilting at windmills.
The GOP majority in the HOR is hanging by a thin thread. Another self-destructive dog and pony show, like choosing the last Speaker, will be the kiss of death for Reps from purple districts.

That’s a good point. I remember when California was a solid Republican state.
Maybe the GOP is past its shelf life. Still, I would argue that what really changed was the demographics of those areas. Same with Arizona and Georgia, except those states are purple and not deep blue.....yet.
The cultural and societal norms always change over time. This is evident now in the decrease in people who identify as religious. I think that modern conservatism is going to have to adapt if it is going to continue to be a valid movement. I think the GOP is going to have to adapt if it’s going to remain a viable political party.

Yes: Motion to Refer H. Res. 863 to the Homeland Security Committee – Impeaching Alejandro Mayorkas. Alejandro Mayorkas is the worst cabinet secretary in American history, guilty of malfeasance, neglect of duty and maladministration. He has implemented Biden’s open border policy that has produced the worst mass illegal migration ever recorded. Elections have consequences, and this is one of them.
The grounds for impeachment are explicitly laid out in the Constitution: “Treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.” Treason and bribery are well defined. But from the beginning, politicians have tried to stretch the meaning of “high crimes and misdemeanors” to apply to political disagreements, and that is antithetical to the fundamental architecture of the Constitution.
The founders specifically rejected terms like malfeasance, neglect of duty and maladministration as grounds for impeachment, because they feared such vague terms would be twisted for political ends and render the executive subordinate to the legislative branch.
Ultimately, they settled on “high crimes and misdemeanors.” Obviously, they would not have substituted one vague term for another. Thus, we are left with the plain and explicit meaning of the phrase. To remove an official by impeachment, it must be for a clearly defined crime and it must be a “high” crime, meaning one related to the official’s duties.
The House made a mockery of impeachment twice during the last session of Congress. We must not allow the left to become our teachers. If these clear constitutional principles are not restored, now, that power will be just one election from being turned against the constitutionalists on the Supreme Court, or upon any future Republican administration.

They’re gun shy for a variety of reasons.
1) Thin margins in the House, with an unorganized party, almost zero discipline, plus Representatives in swing districts, it’s a recipe for “we don’t have the votes.”
2) Some think impeachment will backfire with the public like it did with the Slick Willie impeachment, they’re afraid and don’t really believe in it.
3) Many know that whatever the democrats say & spin will be carried by the media in favorable light. The GOP will be cast as villains who don’t have any policies so they’re “after Joe.” Unfortunately, a certain percentage of the public will believe the lies and vote accordingly.
4) Others want more evidence and for that evidence to swing the public, especially independent voters towards impeachment.

Politicians see each other as friends. They socialize together, give each other jobs, and are neighbors with each other. We need to at least break up the socialization aspect.
Politicians should be required to live, full time, in the voting district that elected them. No 2nd homes. In fact those politicians should have to get permission to leave their elected area, even short absences,for the entire term. Make it so they can only debate or vote remotely.
Keep politicians separate from each other.
The goal to to first make politicians live with results of their legislation/trade policies. They shouldn’t be able to hide in luxury if their voting district is poor.
Another goal is to force politicians to see their voters as their fiends and neighbors. Make them afraid of public scorn as they do their daily shopping.
Separating them would also reduce lobbyist power. Instead of easy access to a centralized location (DC) there would be, at least 435 different location (spread out across the country) lobbyists would have to visit.
Treat politicians like an unrunelly teenager. Keep them at home, control who they see and keep them where friends/family can see what they are up to.

Delusional again. California has allowed ballot stuffing the whole time. When early voting and vote by mail (with no verifications of ballots the cheating increased drastically). Hillary won 65,844,610 votes and Biden got 81,268,924 votes. The vote never increase that much by even a third if that percentage.
Biden won in the a lot counties and landmass compared to Obama. Yet he beat him in every black district in the nation by over 30%. Yea right, Biden was more popular with the black vote than Obama after insulting them throughout the campaign. You have to be living in media neverland to believe there was not massive cheating after everything that has come out.
