Just because he ran on Republican ticket doesn’t mean he is a Republican. Time was you had to run as a Democrat to even be considered for office. Tulsa has been leaning leftest for 40 years, I guess the are now getting there as all large cities seem to do.

I had a cousin who was teaching in Commerce, OK over 30 years ago that had to retire because she had almost all Spanish speaking students. Cheap labor was imported to operate the Mushroom gardens they were establishing in the old mines that Mickey Mantle once worked in.
