It’s simple if Israel finds the conditions for additional aid onerous they have the option of refusing it and do whatever they think is in their own interests. Whining about attached conditions to that aid seems rather arrogant. The US has global interests and all the the global south considers it a war crime to prevent food and water from reaching civilians. US has interests/relationships in the global south that could be jeopardized if we were seen as supporting a country violating the Geneva convention.
“It is NOT the US agenda. It is the Obama/Biden agenda.”
The agenda predates Obama.

The United States, as a Member of The Quartet, issued a formal statement via The State Department reaffirming the US commitment to a Two-state Solution in Israel.
“The Quartet underlined its commitment to the irreversibility of the negotiations; to the creation of an independent, democratic and viable Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza...”
Not incidentally, “West Bank” is left-speak for “Samaria and Judea.”

The Bamster wasn’t even President-Elect at that point.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 777.7 points.
Manifestly SOMEONE was GREATLY displeased with US Foreign Policy.
“The land must not be sold without reclaim because the land belongs to me, for you are foreign residents, temporary settlers, with me.”
— Leviticus 25:23 NET
“You must not encroach on your neighbor’s property, which will have been defined in the inheritance you will obtain in the land the Lord your God is giving you.”
— Deuteronomy 19:14
“The Levites will call out to every Israelite with a loud voice:
‘Cursed is the one who makes a carved or metal image — something abhorrent to the Lord, the work of the craftsman — and sets it up in a secret place.’ Then all the people will say, ‘Amen!’
‘Cursed is the one who disrespects his father and mother.’ Then all the people will say, ‘Amen!’
‘Cursed is the one who moves his neighbor’s boundary marker.’ Then all the people will say, ‘Amen!’...”
— Deuteronomy 27:14-17
To emphasize the magnitude of the offense, this latter passage continues, including the moving of a boundary stone with incest, bestiality, contractual homicide, and other sexual deviancy.
NOBODY ought to glibly pop off with suggestions that Israel yield land; not for ANY reason.
I listened to the complete podcast by Caroline Glick, none of it sounded like whining. She said the 7-hour meeting with the war cabinet and with Tony Blinken was a disgrace, with Blinken arm-twisting the Israelis whose nation is sovereign into not commencing their incursion until after “humanitarian” aid had been delivered to Gazan civilians and these have been relocated.
What this means is the Hamas terrorists get to leave before the bombing and attack by Israel begins. It is an existential falsehood that there exists such people as Gazans who do not support Hamas. They all do.
Also, it was declared by Blinken that the administration would not provide Israelis the bunker-buster bombs needed to neutralize Hamad underground tunnels and storage areas in Gaza, unless it agreed to not use the bombs to take out Hamas rocket launchers, because those launchers are located near or at or within Gaza schools and hospitals.
If Israel continues to see this severely compromised third-term Obama administration as an ally, it is seriously out to lunch.
The US should not be two-faced, and double-tongued about this.
THAT’S the bottom line.
If we’re gonna be supportive, we ought to BE WHOLLY SUPPORTIVE.
Except we CAN’T.
The US has continually engaged in a pattern of Foreign Policy posturing to ingratiate ourselves to everyone, and this has put us into a box we built by our own hands from which place we have confined ourselves within the bounds of a conflicting array of statements to the effect that we cannot, now, wholly commit to ANYONE.
In the vernacular, we’ve f’ked ourselves in our own a$$.
So don’t go laying blame on Israel over the fallout of our own internally dissonant web of policy commits. They’re merely acknowledging the deleterious impact to them of our own self-made idiocy.
“Since 1973, Israel has received more than $120 billion US tax
dollars in military assistance...”
Chicken feed!
Compare that $120B over 50 YEARS to the $78B Biden whacked off for Ukraine in 2022; during which year Israel got a whopping $3.8B.
“Biden told Netanyahu he would offer support and he expected Israel to prioritize protection of civilians and humanitarian concerns.”
Under which guise Biden essentially told Netanyahu to permit Hamas to escape unharmed
If Israel continues to see this severely compromised third-term
Obama administration as an “ally,” it is seriously out to lunch.
Nice take.
Nice take.
So in that context, I think if I were Israel I'd strongly consider calling Biden's bluff to cut defense aid to Israel at this time.
Wow, $120B over 50 years. How much has Ukraine gotten since last year?
Don’t know the musical reference but would appreciate the name of the song please.

Israel should do whatever they want, if the US won’t supply arms, ask Russia, China or Saudi Arabia. IMO, the thing to do with the residents of Gaza is to kill them all, let Allah sort them out. It is what Yehovah wanted them to do during the return from captivity, but the Hebrews were always rebellious. That is why they had to have the UN let the Jews come home. That means the UN is God?
The figure quoted is military assistance only. Does not include other foreign aid outlays to them including development aid, humanitarian aid, economic aid, etc etc etc.
The Israel Foreign Ministry reports that as of 2020, Israel has financed humanitarian aid to over 140 countries or territories, including states with no diplomatic relations with Israel.
The new Biden request is focused on providing military aid: $10.6 billion to provide Israel air and missile defense support, while also replenishing Defense Department military stocks provided to Israel, as well as $3.7 billion to be provided to Israel through the US State Department.
A Third of the “Humanitarian Aid” for Ukraine’s Military has ‘Disappeared’

Around a third of the humanitarian aid intended for the armed forces did not reach the 200 or so military units for which it was intended after clearing customs, the State Customs Service of Ukraine has said.
“During 9 months of 2023, as a result of the joint measures of the Department for Combating Smuggling and Customs Violations of the State Customs Service and the Department of Internal Audit of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, more than 9,000 instances of the movement of humanitarian aid goods intended for 200 military units were checked,” the agency said. In doing so they established more than 3,000 cases of where its receipt by military units had not been confirmed.
Customs also reported that they had sent 387 reports that indicated possible criminal actions the Criminal Code of Ukraine [regarding illegal use of humanitarian aid for profit - ed.] (Excerpt) Read more at kyivpost.com ...
One other observation:
NO MATTER WHAT, media will ensure that the US will be seen as supporting a country that is violating the Geneva Convention.
THAT accusation is rampant “out in the wild” and is so ludicrously predicated that ZERO fear of it ought to at all impact our policy moves.
Peanuts compared to what Ukraine gets every couple of months.
I used to think democrats were stupid. Now I wonder who's getting their hand greased....
