Stalin murdered between 5 and 10 million Ukrainians, 1932-1933. I’ll make a reasonable point estimate of 7 million people. This episode is sometimes referred to at the Holodomor. I simply call it the Ukrainian Holocaust.
Back then, a lot of Democrats called Joseph Stalin “Uncle Joe.”
Walter Duranty headed the Moscow office of the New York Times. Reporting for the New York Times, he rejected talk of mass-murder by Stalin. I think most other papers remained silent. Duranty and the New York Times received the Pulitzer prize for his reporting.
Private papers later showed that Duranty thought 10 million Ukrainians had died. He kept that to himself.
It’s often been said that “we must remember the (Jewish) Holocaust or it will happen again.” I’ve never heard anyone attempt to justify that certitude. Maybe it’s true and we have evidence to that effect. With considerable help from the New York Times and others, we forgot about the Ukrainian Holocaust; it happened again to the Jews in Germany.

Nick, I do not understand the question. I was merely saying that the relative population in the USA is mostly Christian as opposed to the comparative small Jewish population in the USA. I was merely answering her question as to why she does not see more Stars of David on TV. ;-)

Maybe it is because they do not want to start receiving death threats from the anti-Semitics in Hollywood. I do not know the answer. I was simply comparing the strong Christian population in this country as opposed to the relatively small Jewish population in this country. I also get confused with the Jewish religion and those Jews who do not practice the Jewish religion. I have to scratch my head sometimes. ;-)
Many Christians, especially evangelical Christians, a major population group, support the Jewish people’s relationship to Israel as being scripturally based, and sponsor many trips to the Holy Land. It’s not possible to draw a hard statistical line around Jews in America with regard to this conflict, or any major human rights atrocity.

Yes, it is a very unique situation, as Jew is a nationality AND a religion.
I believe Israel is mostly a secular Nation, although many of those that practice Judaism are VERY devout.
[It’s a conundrum wrapped in an inigma, or is it an inigma wrapped in a conundrum???]
The important part is that Israel belongs to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
And He will protect it, especially Jerusalem (the spiritual and geographic center of the world).
