An official says the State Department believes hundreds more are visiting — putting the total number in Gaza potentially between 500 and 600. The State Department estimates that roughly 500,000 American citizens reside in Israel.

And all of them will be targets.

This is a war zone now. People are being shot, kidnapped, beheaded, and burned. This is not going into a building with some terrorists, it’s an area of 139 square miles with an estimated 2.2 million people in it, all could be in favor of Hamas and no way of knowing who will pick up a weapon.

Hamas has already set demands for the release of Americans and you should remember we are dealing with a group of people that think dying for their God is the ultimate act they can do. They do not fear death, they invite it. So the American hostages and citizens there don’t mean anything to them.

If DeSantis takes a couple of planes and a little security, not near enough, into a war zone and tries to reason with an enemy that is ready to die when he is not going to take care of their demands, then he is an idiot. All you’re going to get there is a few more American people dead and a few more hostages with a destroyed aircraft. This is what terrorists do, and even if it lacks morals, success, or character, they don’t care. If DeSantis doesn’t understand this, then he should not be president.

There are two ways to do this, back off and fold up like a lawn chair, or support Israel who has been an ally for many years and was attacked first. One way is liberal, the other is intelligent and accomplishes a reachable goal of stopping Hamas aggression...for a while. But people are going to die this way. And we don’t need to supply the people, especially ours. Don’t rattle the lion’s cage. Let the handlers do the work.
