You are free to go fight if you want. Same for Ukraine.

Yes.

Norman Rockwell and Ronald Reagan are long dead, in more than one way.

Always with the same responses. My primary foccus is Americans of ALL races. America First means ALL. Not Jewish Pride, White Pride or Black pride. And America First absolutely doesn't mean Racism. America's Foundation is the Bible and it is a Biblical Country.

It is not a Biblical country. That’s just what you say.
Many of the Founders were Deists, some Agnostics.
Many of the principles of our country are of Christian heritage.

I say it was founded by men. We disagree, there is nothing to argue about.

I think the isolationist ideas of Buchanan and Paul are getting more of a hearing on FR than they used to

I support a happy friendly, "Fortress America".

We can still be a semi-isolationist country and still trade with a few known documented allies. Not foreign leaches who are only concerned with how much U.S.D. they can loot, or use it to spend our tax dollars on weapons to destroy us. Everything we buy in the U.S. is made by our enemies. Enough is enough.

33 trillion in debt and we're still going to be the world's policeman with people Biden and deep state calling the shots? Pure insanity.

Show me where what he says if factually wrong?

https://twitter.com/wallstreetsilv/status/1711251748092846421/mediaviewer

Here is the problem: WE HAVE NO COHERENT, VALUES BASED, CONSISTENT FOREIGN AND NATIONAL SECURITY POLICY.

The US foreign and national security policies are a series of band aid fixes that politically benefit various economic and or political interests while usually being very short sighted and often contradicting our stated values and even breaking our own laws.

I love Reagan. He is one of my favorite presidents. But even he made deals with folks that were horrible and later bit us in the ass because in his time it made sense: Saddam (leverage against Iran), radical islamist groups (leverage against Soviets)...

Much of our problem fixing is dealing with our own past decisions, monsters we helped create, like Noriega, Marcos...

And today it’s even worse! Why? With a government that stamps secret on everything (no accountability) and today government uses the classification system to hide everything, even the mundane which reduces scutiny. A bloated Intel community with huge black funds, more resources to pay for stupid things. A population accepting the status quo and the media being under tight control or cooperating with government on certain interests. It’s even worse than it was in the past!

Foreign and military aid would be OK (((IF))) there were strict rules, transparency and oversight, a principaled and long term strategy other than making some politician (and his family) and corporation rich, other than giving some politician an opportunity to grandstand but in reality go a course which will cause us new problems in the future.

I responded to number 2 which was an opinion of one line.

“ Show me where what he says if factually wrong?”

This makes no sense.

I was pointing out thread disruption.

“”Show me where what he says if factually wrong?””

Should read:

Show me where what he says is factually wrong?

Ron Paul nailed it.

Many of the “problems” we’re fixing today we created ourselves years past, and in the future, many of the problems we’ll deal with, are idiotic things we’re doing today.

You have zero accountability in government. Virtually, none! Sure, if some GS-9 steals a pen that’s fraud, waste and abuse, had I accepted a lunch for $40 somewhere that would be an ethics violation... But if we give >10,000 Javelin missiles, >$130,000,000,000 to a country and have no accounting and over sight that can tell you where much of that ends up, that’s OK.

In Mexico there are already reports about our weapons, that were supposed to be used in Ukraine, in the hands of the Cartel, but of course that isn’t top news for us, don’t fit the narrative.

Realize:

1. Most the folks making stupid decisions today, will be promoted, retired, or even dead by the time the consequences come to light.

2. The government hides behind secrecy. Today everything gets a secret stamp on it, especially if it’s something which could be derogatory for the organization or key folks in leadership. We say we don’t do this, but of course we do this.

3. You have ever more censorship, and you have collusion with big tech and the main stream media on some issues.

4. Decisions are made by committee (to distribute responsibility when it’s questionable) even though the course of action is usually already decided (Fauci and all that Covid lunacy).

5. The government bureaucracy itself provides a protection, “I was just following orders.”

Point being, no one is ever at fault, unless you steal a .50 cent pen.

You literally have people throwing thousands of missiles and billions of US tax dollars around without any culpability or even accountability. Not even our own government knows where that $hit is ending up and they aren’t trying/pushing to hard to have transparency, maybe because they realize it’s to cumbersome in the chaos and would slow things down, or because they don’t really want transparency because that would cause undesired scrutiny. IMHO, a combination of both. Think about this, if it were to come out in the US media that we are basically financing an army of mercenaries, that Ukraine is de facto paying for brothels, but we’re supporting the Ukraine... how would that go over if you had real transparency and hence the people asking questions? Better to not even look! That’s right up there with US service personnel guarding poppy-fields in Afghanistan - don’t ask to many questions!

When you have no principals or values at work (no true consistent framework of rules), when you have no transparency and accountability, some folks are going to do some wild things that later come to bite you in the @ss.

The stupid $hit needs to end. I’m not referring to Ukraine, but much of our foreign and military aid in the bigger picture. There needs to be TOTAL transparency, line by line disclosure of where US tax money is being spent. If some executive schedule bureaucrat or politicians wants to blow millions or even billions somewhere, they need to justify it. If they want to send thousands of tons of food, or weapons to some place, the people paying for this, and the people that are being represented by that bureaucrat or politicians have a (((RIGHT))) no know.

Post #2: “would like the US to give money to zero foreign countries.”

Questions our spending on foreign, military, humanitarian aid. You attacked that idea.

Sure appears like you have a problem with questioning our foreign aid policies which are basically the wild West for our buerocrats and politicians (do whatever you want). Imagine you not only have the power to do what you want, but you can keep it secret from those people paying for it and whom you represent! Imagine many people don’t care!!!

Before long, you have the US tax payer paying for condoms and training on their proper use to sub Saharan African men. What percent of the American tax base would support that crap if they knew and had a choice in that matter?

This is the sort of crap that shapes foreign aid:
https://www.nytimes.com/2006/10/29/world/29condoms.html and it’s been going on F o r e v e r (why I picked a 2006 article). You have the CIA paying for whores, booze, buying grandiose gifts for people they want to buy with dark funds (literally cash and no ledger), but sometimes they get bit out of hand themselves: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyle_Foggo

It’s really simple. When if comes to foreign aid, there are niches where there is secrecy, a lack of rules, no accounting or little of it... so shady things happen. It’s not always so obvious as having the tax payer pay for whores and booze while some senior folks have poker games...

Most often it’s more subtle or caused by having a 50 meter goal which causes you to lose track of the 100, 150, 200, 250 and 300 meter targets. Reagan for example was faced with a Soviet threat, and in his time, feeding the Wahabist movement, supporting folks in Afghanistan made sense since the enemy of your enemy is your friend. But what made sense in 1984 created a beast we had to deal with later. The point being, without a framework of rules that take into consideration things like our long term interests and certain values, without transparency and accounting, you end up walking down the road of good intentions with bad long term results.

You’re barking up the wrong tree. In post 12 I even wrote this:

“ I don’t even necessarily disagree we shouldn’t give any foreign aid, but you’re bringing it up just to disrupt the thread and avoid the topic.”
