Just a few months ago they were sold off as surplus for pennies on the dollar.
Now they are being bought back at top dollar.
Per the other posters, it will be a long time before a single panel goes up. So are the rate leaders of NY, IL, MA, be stupid enough to fall for this publicity stunt? Not likely. Can they sell this to the general public as a concrete step when, at the same time they’re saying they’re only doing it because they’re required by law, and it won’t work? When Title 42 was ready to expire, the Republican House with McCarthy as speaker, passed "SECURE THE BORDER ACT'...with help from the Dems. It's in the Senate now.
As soon as it was passed by the House, the Whitehouse, in they're arrogance said Biden would never sign it.
So my guess is that the Senate has a good chance of passing it with minor adjustments and it would go to the Mouse with the Pen. Rather than that happening, he's doing it this way.

But the SECURE THE BORDER ACT is MUCH MORE than the wall and this deportation garbage which is unlikely to happen.
I think the control is to Schumer...and whether he ever brings it up for a vote.

I didn’t vote “for” trump in 2016. I voted “against” Hillary.
And I’ll vote against the Democrat this time, whoever runs. The only one I remotely like is Trump because he is not a politician, nor, IMO, a member of the Uniparty.

Thanks to redistricting, I now live in a 75% Democrat district. H1Bs from India have become a reliable source of votes for the Democrats. I see no independent thought from South Asians.

Obrador has the power to embarrass Biden during the 2024 campaign with 24/7 televised stampedes of migrants — such as the September 2021 rush of 15,000 Haitians at Del Rio, Texas.
President Trump opined, “The government of Mexico views their control over immigration as a bargaining chip in any conversation they have with the Biden govt.”
Because of catastrophic Biden screwups, the US can no longer act from a position of strength.
Mexico’s Marxist leaning govt is reveling in its new found strength over Biden’s America. It can now demand big concessions from the US, while pocketing cash from the NGOs that clueless Biden swarmed into the country to facilitate the movement of illegals.
