I think that the envy of wildly imaginary Rothschild wealth is due to antisemitism. Use your common sense. Does any family that is immensely wealthy auction off its personal objects?
Most of that stuff looks gaudy and garish. Could have bought it as some road side souvenir stand.
A wealthy family that is deposed, has it’s personal objects put up for auction.
They do not own stock outright. But like you say, when you are the bank, you hold all the keys
Maybe they think the world is at a market top and they can buy back later at a much lower price.
The “family” is not wealthy.
There are members of the family who are very wealthy. Some really big trusts. Some average with expectations of inheritance.
Some are amazingly good people.
Some garbage.
