Russia lost this when they lost the battle of Hostomel in march 2022.

Since then they have failed in all their aims. But they are stubbornly killing themselves.

I agree. The current phase of war is the ongoing meat grinder for both sides. It will continue until one side runs out of men, weapons, or supplies.

The sad truth is that the Russians took what they wanted and then fortified their positions. The areas where there were mostly Russian speakers have been annexed, along with some other strategically important positions. The Russian supply lines essentially cannot be cut because they are basically all within what is now and will continue from this point forward to be Russian territory.

The vaunted “counter offensive” has basically accomplished nothing other than killing Ukrainian men most of whom had/have no desire to be there. A large percentage are actually boys who were kidnapped by thugs and forced into service. This has turned into a farce that is currently killing and mutilating Ukrainian soldiers at about a ten to one ratio as compared to the Russian defenders.

It often goes like this... the Ukrainians identify an area less well defended than most of the line and penetrate it typically at great expense to themselves. Within a few days the Russians take back the position before the Ukrainians have much of a chance to consolidate. The exceptions are usually where the Russians for whatever reasons had abandoned the position before the fighting had even begun.

But despite the hype there was no significant change in the lines during the Spring and Summer and I guess now Fall “counter offensives”. A lot of people got killed and a lot of expensive equipment was lost. The Ukrainians blew up a dam and then tried to blame it on the Russians who had possession the area. But if you look at a map from last March... what of importance has actually changed? It appears that the Russians have what they want and now they are just waiting it out until the West gets tired of funding this madness or escalates this madness into something worse.

I am sorry as this map shows my post was inaccurate about the lines since last March. The Russians pulled out of positions in the North of Ukraine to consolidate before June 8, the day the supposed Ukrainian “Counteroffensive” started. Essentially, nothing has changed since.

As I see it, Russia is losing it like America lost the war in the pacific right after Pearl Harbor. Russia is rebuilding stock piles. Russia is training new troops. Russia has missiles and drones owning the skies. Russia will have all the land they want. And a demilitarized zone in front of them. Ukraine has no wheat to sell, no oil to sell. Their trains and rivers are at the mercy of the Russians. They are no longer a country. They are a NATO battlefield. And there are no men left. If Ukraine is winning, they are doing it without a country.

Meh, Quit lying. It is sickening to see a person post total lies and delusions for propaganda purposes on this site.

If Ukraine was really winning the whole world would know about it and we would quit sending money and weapons.

They are not winning. They are a broken mess. In fact, the people you cast your lot with are destroying the whole western word with utter stupidity and malice.

Zelensky is very popular in the West.

So were senile Joe’s unsafe and ineffective MRNA vax’s. They were not popular and virtually non existent in many countries ( non western).

We may never know the truth about this conflict. All propaganda all the time.

Putin will order another mobilization if necessary. In a war of attrition, Russia wins. At some point, Ukraine will run out of troops.

In a war of attrition, Russia wins.

Until the people get fed up and decide it's time for a change.

I recall that a Germany that was defeated and humiliated in WW1 came back later for round 2.

“Russia lost this when they lost the battle of Hostomel in march 2022.”

Yet they annexed and defended those new parts of Russia.

Yet Ukraine required the huge counter offensive
