Look under any rock in Africa and you’ll find a rich,corrupt politician. China knows that. I’ve traveled Africa rather extensively...I’ve seen it. Up close.
That's where all the foreign aid goes.
Africa is an important source of minerals and other resources. Having it fall under China’s fist wouldn’t be good.

For me the best example of how African politics work is Nigeria.
The capital city (Abuja) is a prosperous oasis while the largest city (Lagos) has mind-boggling poverty for miles and miles and miles.
All resources flow to the capital while most of the rest of the country is a primitive wasteland.

The thing about China is they don’t care about how a government treats their people. They only care about getting their resources.
America goes into these places and they want to “westernize” them.
As long as the frieghters leave bound for the far east, China doesn’t give a hoot about how people live or how many get their throats cut. When it starts to fall apart, China will send in “security” to protect their investment.

Elections will be postponed indefinitely.
If Trump is running in 2024, I will not go to the polls. I’ll sit it out. I won’t be a party to electing another geriatric patient to high office.
