That is a tough one.
If I were in his situation I would try to find a church that is not itself crazy—they are harder to find in that area but they do exist—and I am recommending that even if he is a hard core atheist.
He needs a social circle with some sane women in it.
Think about it, for upwards of 60 years, almost nothing they’ve been told to believe (feminism) has been true. They hate women that are happy living traditional lives. They hate men building traditional families around God. Their little comfy relationship with Islam (since 9/12/01) is not what they thought it would be. The left can’t have happy people around them because it only reminds them of their personal failures.
Has he cultivated a social life among the young adults at the church he attends?
Those 5% are quite content to avail themselves of the feminine charms of the 95% who are willing to give themselves to that 5%. The irony is that a woman who says "no" to a man is immediately more interesting to him. It raises her value in his eyes when he can't have her.

Modern woke feminist culture has ruined it promulgated by social media and twisted immoralities. The women of the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s looked more wholesome, less wacky and more family oriented at younger ages. Not that there weren’t issues back then (humanity is historically flawed) but women generally were more content in their feminine roles. Modern leftist women live ungodly selfish lives and grew up on propagandized feminist BS. Rotten fruits on display and it’s discouraging to witness it.

It got up close and personal when I was engaged to a wonderful woman who dumped me after she got brainwashed by leftists at her college.
In retrospect that was the best thing for both of us—but the change between the pre-college and college woman was truly stunning—and horrifying.
She changed from a deeply loving person to a hateful one in a matter of months.
I have lots of FB friends that are BEAUTIFUL, but crazy women. Bi polar, suck at relationships, selfish....but the writhe in their own stew of hatred and misery. Its awful to see. I tell them they need, God, a man, and exercise and they go apeshit. One night stands and terrible relationships they love to bitch about. STAY . AWAY.

A husband will care for a woman for being herself. Government bureaucrats might care in an abstract way about women, but they don’t care about or cherish individuals.
So there is an entire cohort of young women who have bought into feminism. They attempt to feel cared for by having flings with men they barely know and then have abortions because they weren’t using birth control and those men weren’t interested in long-term relationships. Then they complain that no one wants to commit and they feel lonely. Well, maybe if they distanced themselves from the “hook-up” culture, took time to get to know a guy before becoming intimate, and stopped thinking of abortion as acceptable birth control, they would be happier.
But what do I know. I’m a non-feminist who has been married for 42 years. And had a successful career.
