only two victims listed are younger than 30. All of the survivors seem united in their belief that there are many missing children. Someone, somewhere, seems to be slow walking the truth.

generally, there seems to be much disagreement (not a good sign imho) at the town level as to whether to proceed quickly or slowly. this is not a good sign because imho the faster people get back on their feet economically and housing-wise, the more independent they will be, the more powerful they will be, the less vulnerable they will be to outside developers. squabbling and delay imho aids the outside developers. good commenter ideas include using habitat for humanity and creation of a construction company on the isthumus for modular housing to be used in lahaina and perhaps later other places in hawaii to ease the housing crisis there. one goal they should have is to regain financial independence from charities. another is to maximize claims from insurance companies, and this is where the government agencies could really help. however, if they prefer to spend extra time mourning and in extended discussions, it does not seem appropriate for any outsiders to tell them what to do or when to do it.
