I had a hunch...I looked into the Nature Conservancy and their presence on the island after I read about the island’s Department of Natural Resources. They have a massive area under their control on the island. They are all about not clearing land and leaving it pristine. They are very much a part of the 30x30 plan.

They are in bed with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. The scenic river designation allows them to control 1000 feet on each side of any tributary in that particular area. I hunted one wildlife area for many years that had some 15 fields leased to farming. The ODNR put a stop to that. Now that area is impenetrable brush. I have cautioned these dumbasses in my county about a possible major fire in the future.
