Sadly, the thing that most people thought would be Trump’s strong suit, picking personnel, has turned out to be his weak suit. His buddy the National Enquirer guy has turned out to be a template rather than an aberration.
Trumps actual supporters are more about policy (not sending all the jobs to China, having a sane immigration policy, energy independence, etc.)

John Cardillo has nothing to do with the DeSantis campaign, just happened to have his picture with him back in May when DeSantis announced his bid for president. In a quick look on line, this guy is described as TV/Media troublemaker, a Pro-Trump conservative pundit accused of stealing $200,000 intended for Ukrainian police body armor, etc. Not someone any campaign would be associating with.

I have watched the DeSantis/Trump supporter feud on social media and neither side have been saints. However, the DeSantis crowd sounds every bit like the GOP establishment. The GOP establishment has mocked, ridiculed, talk down to and told the conservative base they were no more than white trash for thirty years and still demanded that same base vote for every low life idiot they trotted out. Now they are predictably trashing the cross over Trump voters with the same venom.
Whether it’s Trump or DeSantis they need each others voters to win in 24. Right now the GOP establishment has so alienated it’s base that anyone other than these two candidates doesn’t stand a chance, conservatives are just not going to turn out for another Bush, McRommney or Haley type drone.
I suspect the establishment has realized that Trump is going to be the nominee and has set out to defeat Trump in 24 as they did in 20. At this point their treachery is so obvious they are about to poison the well with their base for good.
