“New High School graduates want $25/hr to start for part time work or they will just stay at home with Mommy and Daddy. They have no discernible skills and absolutely no work ethic...”

They’ve had everything all but HANDED to them, gratis.
Worse, they KNOW so.
Public “Education” does nothing so well as it destroys motivation, and cultivates a deep awareness of personal inadequacy.
The few kids who make it their mission to shame the system — to mock it to scorn by REALLY LEARNING and excelling in spite of it — aren’t coming to work for you, because they know what sort of ilk their co-workers will likely be, and refuse to spend all day getting paid one wage to do two or three jobs.

Hell, lotta kids these days aren’t even hot to get their f’n Driver’s License, anymore. All the old rites of passage...? This current crop can’t hardly give a fig for any of it; too much effort.

Empathy, man.

Big Empathy.

I don’t underestimate McDonald’s, I just don’t like what they sell there. I will give them one thing, they have a top notch advertising department. How else could they sell the garbage they do and still make money? They grab’em as kids and let the advertising bring them back until they have kids of their own and take those kids to McDonald’s to relive their own childhood. Rinse and repeat forever.

My first job outside the home was picking Marion berries, for which I made 25 cents for a gallon bucket. Averaged about $3 a day, which was big bucks for a 7-year-old in 1962. In high school and for a year afterward I worked at a McDonald’s, starting at $1.60/hr in 1971 and working up to $2.20/hr in 1973.

McDonald’s has changed a lot since then, and not for the better. I very seldom eat there anymore.

Experiences at McDonalds generally mirror the quality of life in any given area, not to mention the demographics.

Here, quality of life is good, MAGA area, and service at McDonalds is outstanding (Yes, I know one of the franchise owners, and several store managers, but get treated same as any customer).

We have to repeat our training daily for as much as six months for them to catch on .....

Retraining every 15 minutes used to be a joke.............

“Younger folks these days are being told to work harder than ever for illegal alien invaders, multi-generation gibsmedats, and now even Ukrainians (including their pensions).”

Ideological fantasy. I have three working-age teenagers in the family, one a Dairy Queen shift manager, and none has ever been told anything like that or left with that impression, or been told they need to work harder for any reason than any previous generation. Besides, those programs are funded primarily out of money printing and borrowing, not income taxes

So you lie to your teenagers by omission? If they haven't been told that, they're being set up for a very rude awakening.

Your teenagers will have to work harder than you did to pay for illegal alien invaders, multi-generational gibsmedats, and Ukrainians. Your teenagers are forced to work harder due to devalued money due to printing, money borrowing, as you cite and a whole slew of other strategies used against them. Income tax is just one of the means.

Your teenagers won't be able to afford a home because they'll be forced to pay for others' housing. Your teenagers won't be able to afford kids to because they're forced to pay for others' kids, the kids of people who hate your teenagers. Your teenagers won't be able to utilize working infrastructure because they'll be forced to pay for the decades of decay in Democrat areas. The list goes on.

Captain Disease closes at 7 (Vestavia Hills, AL) due to no staff. I was told at 3:30 in the afternoon that it would be 30 minutes for any food I ordered at an otherwise dead KFC in Irondale AL. Wendy’s informed me and my wife they were only filling mobile orders, not taking any from the drive thru (doors were locked to dining room) and the big one—the variation of “ice cream machine is broke”—that has made sure I carry cash, is “The credit card machine is out, so we cash only” They cant hire anyone who wants to work, and those that they do hire want the check but want to do nothing for it, especially deal with customers.

If it is like USA unemployment laws they just need to show they “tried” to get a job to keep the welfare benefits rolling in.

My friend from Quebec has said that immigration and homelessness is out of control in Canada.

She had to move from her dream building to a lesser building because of the lack of safety from the tent city that was in the Riverwalk park in Granby.

It ain’t the Canada you remember

Nice. I had to take early retirement because things have been too sketchy for me since 2008. Sounds like things are going O.K. for you. Awesome.

Side story:

Just found out my 84 cent bread at WalMart that went to $1.10 was like $1.32/loaf. I had only taken in enough cash change to buy one; oops. Thought I could get two (only had $2.50 on me when I went in). It all worked out.

Still, thanks to Joe and the rest of the disastrous Biden Adinistration, a loaf of bread is up 57% in just about 15 months. Soda is even more.

Keep voting Democrat, you fools out there in the big cities.

It’s working!!
