Yeah, sure, Putin is secretly pro-American and pro-NATO, just very good at hiding it. And referring to me as a DNC troll is just silly.
OPERATION ATLANTIC RESOLVE was launched in 2014 as part of the US reaction to the Russian occupation of the Donbas region of the Ukraine and its occupation of Crimea. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Atlantic_Resolve
Well, that war didn’t expand so I guess we can assume the Ukrainian mess won’t either... /s
That didn’t make sense, the advisors have never been a problem, it was sending in the 16,000 troops that got us into Vietnam 60 years ago and we don’t have anyone fighting in Ukraine, why try to make comparisons when it just doesn’t work.
I feel Biden is ramping up the war...little by little. And our involvement in it.
At this stage, we can only have opinions on that so who knows, but so far we and about 54 other nations are only sending or giving support in one form or another.
The civilized world is obviously against the rebuilding of the evil empire and is shocked by the return of Russia to this brutal conquering war machine on the march for new wealth and population and ports.
Are you saying if we hadn’t stepped in with assistance that one country after another would have fallen like dominoes
I don’t know ansell - it seems like a lot to risk for somehting that’s really not our problem. Other countries in the region could have helped... then if Putin had gone after a NATO county we could step in - legally and with full force of the power of treaties. As it is it’s war with Russia by proxy and it’s not wroth the risk in my book.
Seriously do you believe Putin would have moved against a NATO country?
Also in this process we’ve united Russia and China... I’m sorry but I just don’t get our invovement in this war.
It is normal for NATO to do what they exist for, to protect against Russia.
As Russia launches the biggest European war since WWII in a massive wealth and territorial grab, NATO is naturally sending aid to the European nation fighting Russia.
You're confusing Russia with the former USSR. Russia has a GDP about the size of Italy's. Would you favor 30 countries forming an alliance against Italy?
We don't need to be 'cops of the world. And I'm not saying that because it was once a 'fashionable thing to say in the 60's but because always going to bat for corrupt countries IS NOT a way to facilitate peace in the world.
Think of the big father who steps into every fight his son gets into - what becomes of the son? Is that action creating peace or success? A successful son or a buly? In the short run protecting dictators and thugs and correct countries works but in the long run it creates chaos.
I feel the same people who feel 'helping the homeless' by creating MORE toxic incentives are the same folks who apply that logic to knee jerk acceptance of wars.,

We don't need to be 'cops of the world' every time... And I'm not saying that because it was once a 'fashionable thing to say in the 60's but because always going to bat for corrupt countries IS NOT a way to facilitate peace in the world.
Protecting OUR border might be more important at this time.

In the short run protecting dictators and thugs and corrupt countries works but in the long run it creates chaos. Every addiction is the same: a short term high - a long term disaster.
I feel the same people who feel 'helping the homeless' by creating MORE toxic incentives are the same folks who apply that logic to knee jerk acceptance of these types of wars.
Sorry I clicked "post" before I edited ... the reason for two almost identical posts.
LOL, no, I’m not confusing anything, and your posts have drifted into the rambling.
