The movie Snowpiercer (2013) was about nations of the world trying to stop global warming (climate change) by blocking the Sunlight on Earth.
The result was creating a new ice age and a snowball Earth.

“What does this global diversion have to with accepting chicom bribes?”
The idiots bet all the bribe money on there really being only 7.6 years of human existence left, and doing everything possible to “win”...

Mathematically, there is no way that science can predict the outcome beyond the very near initial phase of such an undertaking. It could cascade into unknown and dire consequences beyond the control of any human.
Every darkening of the sun in human history has led to a frozen world and famine everywhere (e.g. AD 536) Words like "crap-shoot" and "Russian roulette" can not even begin to convey the idiocy of this suggestion.
Only a madman and lunatic would suggest such a thing.

I think i have seen this movie....actually about 200 movies.
The latest was at 5am on a roku channel.
“The Colony” staring Bill Paxton and Laurence Fishburne.
The one and only movie that i had paid for in the theater then walked out of because it was so horrible was “Highlander 2: The Quickening” based on a catastrophic climate change experiment gone bad as it’s backdrop.
What a CRAP movie that was..

Young Lex Luther, Clark Kent's best friend, did the opposite of this. He was a good kid then and was a science hobbyist. He built a sun reflecting tower to keep Smallville warm in the winter. It worked ... until it didn't and got too hot.
Superboy had to save the day. He used his heat vision to melt the legs of the tower so it would topple. It did, but it crashed into the barn Lex was working in. Chemicals splattered on Lex and all of his hair fell out. He blamed Superboy and accused him of jealousy. They have been enemies ever since.
... and now you know ... the rest of the story ...
