Congress could reduce the FDIC insurance maximum to steer money in search of loans towards the Treasury rather than to banks.

Free Republic visitors are largely made up pf seniors on social security, as well as veterans, many of whom receive disability payments. For the record, I am a social security recipient and a disabled vet.
I wonder how many of us will sit quietly if our payments are temporarily put on hold? For me, it won’t be easy.
