Typical leftist- rewriting history. Those who kived through his failed 4 years as president know he was a lousy president and a failure as a leader. It took Reagan to correct much of the damage he did- per usual- republicans ALWAYS have to come in and clean up the disasters of the left! Problem is that the disasters often leave some Indelible stain on the country that can’t be undone.

Life in the US was pretty dang good until old fumble fingers tanglefoot was passed the football. Was it perfect? No, but it was tons better than what Carter and ilk turned it into- and it only took them 4 years too to destroy the good times we had.

Biden though is ontrzck to beat carter’s dismal record as worst president ever in just under 2 years. Will we survive a other year and 1/2?

Former President James Earl Carter (D) was a great president and is a great man.

Stuff and nonsense. Until 0bama, he was the worst president since Woodrow Wilson.

Carter was a terrible person... What kind of 'good guy' plays the 'I can't leave the Rose Garden to campaign, because of the hostage crisis' card... And then after a disastrously failed attempt to rescue the hostages goes wayward... He decides afterwards that it's now 'okay' to come out of his white house bunker to campaign again. How crass and evil can you be?

I remember the day of the election watching one of the network morning shows... They had a pollster explaining that it was 'too close' to call, which was the general consensus of three major TV networks... By the end of that night... Carter had won just 4 states and the district of Columbia.

This is the map courteousy of Dave Leip's Atlas of U.S. Elections... With Republican's indicated in the formerly traditional conservative blue... BTW - Blue is the colour of Conservatism... Red is the colour of Liberals and always has been. But that's a story for another time... Suffice to say... When is the last time you that you've seen a Communist flag with blue in it?

Also btw - The first television network to show the Republican's in red and the Dems in traditional Republican blue... Was CBS during the 1992 election. By the time of the 1996, ABC and NBC also went with blue for the Democrats. Why American Republican's ever accepted Red as their colour is beyond me.

Selective memories of someone from decades ago will be distorted.

Indeed - very selective memories. No one seems to recall his truly racist campaigning in the '60s and very early '70s, when that's what it took to get elected in Georgia.

He is a decent man, but 'good'?

He was a very ambitious man. Ambitious men can look like a lot of things, but 'good' is a bit of a stretch.

I remember Tim Russert changed colors.

I was watching “the news” one day and they were doing a quick interview with Tim Russert via remote.

Tim Russert was white as a ghost. It shocked me. I thought “he does not look good” - he was gone (passed away) within a few days after that.

What did Tim Russert comment on that day I saw him, white as a ghost?

He said (basically) “Hillary should accept it. Obama’s gonna be the nominee” - and he was dead within a few days.

I will not say it’s related - but I always kinda wondered?

Was it his Obama worship or his dissing of Hillary on a public platform? (just joking - mostly just joking)

There was a terrific interview that Barry Goldwater had with Parade many years ago. He was asked what his thoughts were on the various modern day presidents. Goldwater said that Carter was a good man and the longer he stayed out of politics the better he would be seen. I took that to mean that one can believe Carter was a disaster but he still has virtues beyond that. That’s pretty much my own notion of him.
