Shouldn’t that money be going to their former African slaves for “reparations” for all the hard work they did picking cotton?
Not to worry, the rest of us will foot the bill. Or maybe all those illegals can be put to work on the ol’ railroad.
So let’s see. 15 years. Almost $10 billion spent. Not a single mile of track has been laid.
But “progress” has been made??? What kind of “progress” are we talking about - lining politically connected people’s pockets?
So, the railroads were built by black people and the High Speed Rail was built with dollars that should have gone to Reparations?
“We can’t get this project done without federal support. It’s just not going to happen“
Last I checked it was a California Bond measure, not a National one that was voted on (I voted no) . So these clowns are admitting that this boondoggle as of “now” will be 1200% plus over budget. And no one is in jail because?
So....they spent $9,800,000,000 over 15 years and have produced........nothing.
Sure, lets have government run-health care....
Good idea.
Some years ago a proposal was made for a huge project in Boston called "The Big Dig".It was meant to create more "green space"...among other things. It involved two major Interstates that pass through the city...IIRC it was meant to somehow lower them.
The original proposal was a few billion dollars. It turned out to cost something like 5 times the original proposal.
During that time even Barney Fag,the Congressman for that district, knew that the estimates, and the project itself, were absolutely silly. He observed "it would be cheaper to raise the city than to lower the Interstate".
Let’s see, 15 years, over $9,000,000,000 spent but not a single mile of track laid. That’s what I’d call abject failure with a capital “F”.
Why is it elevated? So illegals can camp out underneath?
“What kind of “progress” are we talking about - lining politically connected people’s pockets?”
Rumor has it Feinstein’s Husband was in on this deal. Glad the job will probably never get finished and he is dead with wifey soon to follow. Hopefully that family won’t profit any longer.
We used to have a saying in software: "The sooner you start to write the code, the longer it takes to finish".
The 9.8 billion has been spent on acquiring, or trying to acquire, the hundreds of land parcels needed. And they are still no where even close. So when this project fails and closes down, will they offer that land back? I think we all know the answer to that.
It would be cheaper to create a Mars colony as reparations for black slavery—promise them forty acres and a mule.
Californication is ALMOST as big a joke as Biden is...
“Why is it elevated? So illegals can camp out underneath?”
That and wildlife migration, kind of one in the same.
Give each one a rover to get around.
