Wait. They have writers?
The British use writers but I’ve seen no evidence in years that Hollywood uses writers. Any 10 year old can insert new names into old scripts.

interestingly enough, it was one of the first major writers’ strikes that initiated the tsunami of so-called “reality” shows, some of which have become the most popular shows on TV, such as On Patrol Live, Bering Sea Gold, Gold Rush, et. al. ...

“Didn’t their last strike bring us “reality” tv?”
it did indeed, and some of those so-called reality shows are some of the most popular ones on the air right now ...

Hollywood is only shooting itself in the foot. Entertainment is elastic. There is alway Netflix, Prime, YouTube, and ROKU. Guess I’ll be watching al lot of friends reruns.

AMPTP has completely stonewalled the guild on proposals to institute a minimum size for writers rooms, as well as a minimum duration of employment. Sounds like the WGA is demanding that producers hire more writers than are actually needed.

Wait...there’s a strike?
Huh...

Well, let's see:
- Over the air television? Nope.
- Cable? Nope.
- Satellite? Nope.
- Roku? Yes, one hour a month.
- YouTube? Cat videos and CSPAN clips.
- DVD and Blu Ray collection? Yes.
Now, what effect is the strike having in my life? Unnoticeable.
