No, I used to live there. I haven’t tried all these dishes. I would like to try jellied eels, but not from a can. Why is haggis revolting?

We have a fish and chip truck here, run by a British couple, and it’s the best I’ve ever had. They combine the best parts of British fish and chips with better CA ingredients. The batter is light and not greasy, and they put a pinch of turmeric in it. You can get a side of mushy peas or Tikka Masala. They have bangers, but I’ve never tried them. The chips are only okay.

WRONG!

Due to massive invasions by Franks, Angles, Saxons ( ALL GERMAN TRIBES! ), the ancient Romans, Vikings from several different Scandinavian nations, Normans, and intermarriage with the Celts, Picts, Irish ( not a one of these being Brits! ), as well as Royal and Aristo marriages over the centuries, not to mention those who married Americans of unknown original heritage, you will be hard pressed, if not impossible, to find a 100% pure blooded original Brit in today's England!

What do you consider an original Brit?

The restaurants in The Savoy, many of the restaurants in Harrods, Simpson's on the Strand for THE best roast beef dinner amidst incredible history, The 58 for marvelous Italian food, and on and on and on. I could fill a thread with more restaurants that have great food.

Never ate at M&S.

Me too! :-)

And I forgot to list the main restaurant at The Tate Museum; it's fantastic!

I don't like oatmeal, for starters. I did try it once and did NOT care for it at all.

Everyone has their own likes and dislikes, so telling other what they SHOULD like, is offensive.

Do you like aspic dishes? If you do, you'll like jellied eels.

I don’t generally love aspic dishes, but I am willing to try.

I DO love fish and chips; though NOT with vinegar; I prefer tartar sauce.

And I also love real English bangers with Coleman's mustard.

I HATE Indian food, so I'd pass on the Tikka Masala.

And while it is quite different from American Chinese restaurant food, Chinese restaurants in London ( well, the ones I've been to ), are very good.

Then do so.

It's just not something I care to try, since I hate anything in aspic.

What? That's the most British food of all!

The Neanderthalls in Cheddar and other such original indigenous people.

There are quite a few people whose families have ALWAYS lived in Cheddar, who have ancient DNA.

The Picts and Celts weren't Brits.

Perhaps the descendants of the tribes that the Ancient Romans conquered IF their descendants never intermarried with anyone else.

No it isn't "BRITISH" and you know it isn't!

I find it disgusting and it smells awful! But each to his own.

Many Americans seem to remain convinced that the concept of 'subject' still exists in the UK, when it lost its last vestiges of legal or constitutional meaning over a century ago, and de facto long before that. British citizens are British citizens.

https://nationallegalservice.co.uk/uk-protest-rights/

“Protesting is legal in England and Wales, the right to protest is protected under the European Convention of Human Rights. However, this only applies to peaceful protest and does not extend to any violence inflicted or damage caused during a protest.

It must be noted that this right is not absolute and can be limited in certain circumstances. An example of this is when a protest or assembly would result in a threat to public health.”

I thought so too before I lived in the UK from 2000 to 2005 — and no, the food is pretty good, contrary to stereotypes
