The snapping of the head backwards is what you would expect from Newton's third law, as much of the skull contents is ejected through the exit wound in front. There's not much of a "snap forward" for two reasons: (1) the bullet entry doesn't transfer much kinetic energy (unlike the exit); and (2) Kennedy may have been restrained by the back brace he always wore.
NB: I personally believe that Oswald was the only shooter, but that's not the same as "Oswald acted alone". The Cuban DGI, the Mafia, and LBJ all wanted Kennedy out of the way.
