Person in car could have been intoxicated given the time and didn’t want to get busted. Ultimately it’s Bob Lee’s problem for being out at 2:35am in a Democrat-run city. If he’s sleeping in his room none of this happens.
It seems like most of the comments at NYPost are along the line of:
“Bob Lee was super-woke, so he got what he asked for.”
I have to agree. Here is one comment there:

Bob Lee was a large Dem donor who voted for this in San Francisco and would have likely brought his Leftist politics to Florida. He even has some “defund the police” donations.
I doubt many people are shocked today.
Most likely surprise and fear as to what they are getting involved in. Most people aren’t going to get involved in some drunken street brawl with bums and dopers.
But of course that is rational. Hard to put myself in the place of anyone who would live in filthy sin-riddled San Fransicko these days.
