It is said at the end of life, you wish you had spent more time with loved ones. Not that you worked more.

As someone who works full time, takes care of young and old family members and home, it would be a major blessing to have a four day workweek.

I love my job. But burnout is very real.

There is far more to life than spending every waking moment working. You don’t have to live at work to be a great worker.

One of the reasons this country is great is because of the American work ethic. Not many countries quite like it. It's why everyone wants to move to America. So they can make a living. But like you said, we pay a price for it.

If you work 60 constantly, you’re supposed to be compensated for 60. Salary is included in that.
Fed has been targeting “wage theft” due to misclassification of employees and under compensation for the lat few years.

Sounds like your employer is robbing you.

Do we have a STANDARD 5-day one NOW?

Indeed!

30 years ago Naval Avionics in Indianapolis was on a two week schedule of a 4-day 10 hour day, and a 5-day 8 hour one.

Still amounted to 80 hours per pay-period, but the 3 day weekend was really nice.

Saves money when you only need to commute 4 days in lieu of 5.

My barn cat gets snippy if I do not show up with her food on time.

I'm relatively thin, but most of my friends have about 8 months of food stored on their butts and bellies.;-)

They might be irritably hungry, but they wouldn't starve.

i loved working from home, no phones ringing, no coworkers yacking and one another from cube to cube. only down side was an over bearing manager and her constant checkins

I worked 2nd shift.

Got a LOT more work done.

No phone to answer, no boss interrupting, no stupid ‘meetings’ to attend, yada...
