Back in the 1980’s I and others cleaned out a underground tank for some hours that contained clothes fibers and the chemicals that were used to clean the clothes. My voice was hoarse for a few weeks afterward. That was contained area.
If this guys voice changed from the chemicals in the outdoors then it must really be bad there.
