I know I’m going to be blasted for this but I’m wondering if he’s really the murderer. I have no trust in our government and if someone can be stitched up and end the nightmare of endless detective work with the media up its backside, I can see evidence being planted and this guy going down for it whether he did it or not. I would not want to be on that jury where the media has almost certainly convicted this guy in the court of public opinion. We have all seen them rush to judgment numerous times enough to know that they are the most fallible (and politically motivated) group there is. I will wait to see what evidence is offered in this trial before I believe anything. As for that small percentage of innocent people who die because someone must set an example for justice and warn the true miscreants, I’m opposed to that.

DNA is a part of the case against Kohberger. Apparently they have found more evidence against him. Usually they need more than DNA only to build a case. Trying to put him somewhere near the scene is important too.
I recall a case where a fellow was charged with a crime based on DNA evidence ... and then his defence pointed out that he was undergoing surgery in a hospital at the time the crime was committed.
I think it was later established that this fellow and the victim of the crime had been transported in the same ambulance (though not at the same time nor even same day).

Many bits of evidence (including an honorable discharge and having been recently employed by the US Government.
And many other reason as well
However,I understand that it could happen. I also understand that I could win Powerball...or be struck by lightening...or find a 35 year old Teri Garr at my door looking for “companionship”.
But they're all highly unlikely.
