Time to find out how many politicians’ family and friends run heat pump dealerships.
There are going to be a lot of vacant homes in New York state after 2025.
Perhaps they’ll house all of the illegal immigrants.
NY actually gets a bad rap. Nassau and Suffolk counties are Republican. Most of NY is Republican.
The rural areas are less populated and solids Republican. The densely populated places, cities and surrounding suburbs are Democrat.
Are commercial and government properties also included? It would be nice to see those that impose their will on the people live by those same rules, first. Show the people how it’s done. Convert all state buildings to electric starting now. Let’s see how that works out in central and northern NY in the winter.
When it’s under 40 outside, your “efficient” electric heat pump can’t pump heat - so the resistance heat strips kick on and you can use your electric meter as a fan.

Electric heat pumps plus electric cars plus grid crashes means you freeze and can’t even leave town.

When this starts to bite in a couple of years there will not be enough people left in New York to require additional electric generation.
They can probably run the entire state with a couple of standby generators borrowed from a chicken farm.
On one side is Pennsylvania and its incoming Governor has said he’s going to wage war on the energy sector. To the east, it’s Vermont and Connecticut. South, Jersey.
I was born and raised in that state. Great place to grow up prior Spitzer. From Spitzer to the present day it’s been a disaster and, obviously, getting worse.
That electricity is not "zero-emission"; it come from a fuel burning power plant. The only zero-emission heating unit is a sweater.
They could just put a high excise tax on gas making it too expensive to use.

Wow let’s outlaw fossil-fuel furnaces. Force you to use electric heat and then shut down all your FF power generation.
