It really doesn’t make any difference in that respect… They are going to twist what Trump says into something reprehensible, or they are simply going to lie out right about it.
Until there are ramifications, they will not change.
They will treat Pence with deference and respect, unless he were to obtain the nomination, in which case they will treat him as they treat Trump.

Calling for the end of the constitution, is the job of the democrats, and they do it on a daily basis.
Trump DID NOT call for the end of the constitution, and only the never-Trumpers want to interpret it that way.
Trump actually adhered to all points in the constitution as president.
Calling for the end of the constitution is a career-ending statement. Trump is not that dumb. Democrats do it all the time, but then, it’s what they do.
