A Hayabusa costs 15K goes zero to 60 2.3 seconds top end 186 mph stock. A little work and it’ll go faster and quicker.
How much are those Tesla’s? I could get 2 Hayabusa for a battery change on a Tesla.

I’m surprised that the charging stations don’t have monitors running MSNBC programs. That way you can get indoctrinated while you wait.
Why bother? If you're at a charging station you're already indoctrinated.

Lets see. EV charging station in front of a restaurant. It will charge your EV to 80% (which most EV owners only charge to anyway) in 27 minutes. Which is far less time than you are going to be spending in the restaurant. And it very likely is free of charge. But hey, if free fuel and a full tank when you leave dinner is not for you, who are we to question your judgment.
I've never seen a charging station in front of a restaurant and I live in California.
Even if there was one how many 27 minute cycles of other EV freeloaders will you have to wait for, for your turn at the "very likely free charge"?
To say the other freeloaders are going to stop at 80% you're lying through your teeth. They'll be having desert and more cocktails while YOU'RE waiting in line for your freebee before dinner.

"Assuming one stop per week at a gas station that is a net savings of 40 days over a lifetime."
Ok. Let's play the game thoroughly...
Yes, lets...
This is fun! A rational discussion on FR. Thanks for your thoughts, FRiend!
Other assumptions:
That you will drive/own an electric car your entire "lifetime"
I'll give you this one, as EVs haven't been around in any real fashion for the majority of most peoples lifetimes. But soon, that won't be the case.
That you never have to travel over several hundred miles in one day.
Drive 250-275 miles, stop to pee, grab a bite and stretch legs, then 15 minutes later back on the road for another 250-275 miles. Whats the problem?
The problem is that all the time you are grabbing a bite and stretching your legs needs to be subtracted from your 40 days over your lifetime. That's why I included this one.
That you never stay overnight and have to charge it elsewhere
Is this related to the above travel question? If so, pick a hotel with EV charging, which will often be free. Wake up in the morning with a full battery and go.
Related if you have to spend time waiting for a charge, which should be subracted from your lifetime claim.
That you never have to pull a trailer
This will be true for an overwhelming % of the driving population. Like 90%+. Hell. 70% of truck owners never tow a damn thing. But if towing things is a common and regular occurrence, or even a requirement, then buy the right tool for the job. Just like everything else in life.
That you aren't driving in sub-zero temperatures
My friends in Buffalo NY, Rochester Minnesota, and several other cities in the north with brutal winters never complain about their Tesla's performance. And this winter, including the 6' plus storm in Buffalo, my friends who have the F150 Lightning aren't complaining either.
Related because both will reduce mileage and may increase frequency of time waiting for a charge. Electric resistance heaters draw a lot of current. EVs are closely designed for the specific load of the vehicle and don't handle extra loads well.
That you don't mind the depreciation of trying to sell a used car with a worn-out battery
Only time will tell on that as EV battery, particularly Teslas, should be good for in excess of 500,000 miles. But currently, its quite common for a used Tesla to cost more than a brand new one because you can have it today vs waiting months and months or possibly more than year.
And how is the resale value on a 20+ year old car with 280,000 miles and a quart of oil a week habit with a shredded headliner and a drivers seat that looks like a bear attacked it?
Musk claims 300-500k miles. Musk claims a lot. We'll see.
That you can charge your car without being hampered by electrical brownouts.
Luckily most of us don't live in the devolving shithole that is California and our governments are taking energy production seriously. Especially here in the Carolinas.
Grid loads will significantly increase with more EVs. It's a real problem the utilities are struggling with today. Grid infrastructure improvements are very expensive. And note: 10% of the population lives in CA. (Not me, ever!)
That the electric utility "allows" you to charge your car when you want
My utility provider doesn't have a clue what kind of car I have. Does yours require you to keep them abreast of such things?
EVs often require a home charger to be installed, including upgrades for the required current flow. Many utilities offer a discount for the installation, and programs to use the battery and charger to shed loads on the grid. It's optional, but cheaper than installing it without utility incentives. Load shedding has been done for years with water heaters and air conditioners.
Yes, please... Again, thanks for your thoughts!

I’ll let ya know in 500,000 miles.
Actually I won’t, because I will have moved onto another car or 2 by then.

I don’t think that Tesla owner had anywhere near 500K miles on it. There are many a tale like that one. That guy was not the Lone Ranger.
