The author has one thing right: Trump would be a fool to help re-elect Biden and re-up the Biden Justice Departments persecution of Trump. Trump is no fool, so if Desantis ends up as the nominee, Trump won’t help Biden against him.

I believe that Trump is a big enough man that, if he lost the nomination process fairly, he would have no trouble endorsing DeSantis.

If DeSantis Wins the Nomination, Trump Will Endorse Him Of course.
Same as DeSantis will endorse Trump if Trump wins the nomination which he will.

I plan to vote Republican. Period.

"help re-elect Biden"
Biden is a sock puppet / place holder for whoever has been putting together their campaign since 2020 (Newsome, Buttplug, et al)

One version of this is that Trump will either form a third party
If Trump runs in primaries and loses, in many states he would be precluded from running as a 3rd Party candidate due to "sore loser laws". That's why Pat Buchanan dropped out of the Republican primaries before they began in 2000, as he decided then to go for the Reform Party nod.

Trump should endorse Biden
To: NeverCheney
Desantis has no interest in saving the Republic.
Trump does.
There is nothing else to discuss.
To: NeverCheney
DeSantis should have waited until 2028. This battle for the nomination is his fault.

Yeah, vax and mask mandates, speech censorship, gun grabbing, weaponizing federal law enforcement and intel agencies against their political opponents….
Those damn fascist MAGA Repubs.

“This battle for the nomination is his fault”
Pompeo and Pence have talked a lot more about running for President than Desantis has.
To: McGruff
There is no “battle”.
DeSantis hasn't even declared yet.
To: NeverCheney
Eh. Lots of spitballin’.
There’s going to be Republican Primaries. Whoever wins, wins.
Then, people will make a decision to support or not.
Pretty simple.

Is this just a fancy way of saying “fascist”?
To: SmokingJoe
Last I heard, he had “undeclared”, stating he would not run.
I could be wrong, but at this moment I believe that to be the case.

lol can you provide evidence of that or are you just pulling it out of nowhere?
Trump compromises with RINOs and nonconservatives all the time in the interest of perceived electability and support. Just look at Oz and McCarthy.

If DeSantis Wins the Nomination, Trump Will Endorse Him (hurl) It doesn't matter one way or the other. If Trump supports the nominee other than himself) the headline will be: "Trump support kiss of death ..."
If Trump doesn't support, it will be: "Trump and his supporters have damaged the Republican's chances".
This type of question is a rerun of the 2016 media playbook.

1. Thinks trump will easily win the general election.
2. Terrified of the possibility of DeSantis challenging the supposedly invincible trump.

1. Everything looks easy from a distance - it rarely is.
2. It will be good to have a vigorous Republican Primary season, no matter who prevails.
