They were talking about potential “rolling blackouts” in New England this morning on WEEI Sports radio station out of Boston. This is because Eversource the largest electric utility in New England is stating there might be shortages of LNG available to come into Boston area LNG terminals.

This all stems from a lack of natural gas pipelines coming into New England. Plus the fact that all the liberals did not want a new Kinder Morgan pipeline in their backyard proposed a few years ago from PA through NY, MA and NH. Eversource has shut down other electric producing plants over the last several years because natural gas was so much cheaper. Now, with the price spike due to European demand, the price for LNG on the East Coast of the US has gone up substantially. Time to fire up all the old COAL fired plants. There is still one left in NH.

“Fossil fuel” is a natural resource that stores energy. It has value because that energy can be converted to work. Work has intrinsic value because it can directly produce things needed and/or desired.

There are only 3 ways for wealth to be created; work, inventing novel ways to make work more productive and efficient, and the conversion of natural resources into work or the products needed and/or desired.

So, ending “fossil fuel” is ending a primary way of creating wealth. It will result in destroyed economies and an overall lower standard of living for most people who aren’t killed by this.

It is a very stupid goal.

The internal combustion engine is the best invention in the world. It has brought so many inventions.

The steel industry, the electronics industry, the upholstery industry, tires (rubber), manufacturers of plastic and probably many more that we have not mentioned. They have been major contributors to this industrial growth.
