This is insane.

We need more CO2 not less, and more heat instead of more cold.
Heat is good. Cold is bad.

Trying to cool the earth leads to aridification, less rain, more deserts, famine, millions dying of hunger.

Have you seen the earth pictures from space? How all of North Africa is a desert? During Roman times Libia and North africa were the ‘granary’ of the world, feeding the Roman empire. Now look a it.

These nutcases will just make it worse.

He sounds stupid with the Geoengineering crap, probably a yes-man with no particular technical talent, but deciding they could get away with not training airline crews on the MCAS was probably not the a training subsidiary or engineering department decision but strictly a sales driven decision. Top mgt and marketing agreed to what the customers demanded as a base requirement: no training requiring time off from revenue flying duty and no simulator time.

I also blame the software idiots, probably offshore talent who had no business doing aerospace and life critical systems software. And even moreso, I blame their engineering managers and executives. Muilenburg, the then president, had been in charge the F22 project, which was a fly-by-wire, life-critical mission-critical coengineering of hardware and software. He set the attitude of smugness, we are Boeing.

Just another used-to-be great company where management chooses monetizing their reputation.

My father said much the same thing, "What God is going to do, He is going to do, we are just along for the ride."

would be both feasible and remarkably cheap

It never fails. They keep topping themselves with bigger and more stupid lies.

I should have mentioned-I don’t even know if this guy had anything to do with that Charlie Foxtrot. But his mindset clearly inclines that way if he is making this dimwitted proposal.

Oh, I am with you on the software idiots. If there is one thing I have learned in my profession, the variety of human reactions to various situations is limitless. If N is the number of possible ways that a human can react and behave, the number is really N + 1.

Someone always thinks of a way to do something uniquely, that you could never in a million years predict in advance.

It is admirable, actually.

But It makes the act of trying to predict human behavior completely...absolutely impossible.

Sad. I so admired the products of Boeing’s efforts they have put forth for the last 80 years or so. Very disillusioning.
