Like most light weight structures, the primary weakness is the tendencies to buckle and twist. The hand rails sticking up and being restrained by the ribbon resisted twisting which resisted the buckling. Cutting the ribbon allowed the bridge to twist. The celebrating crowd was also larger than the design load. Everyone had to get into the photo for publicity.

Once they get rid of fossil fuels it will be. There won’t be enough electricity, batteries, charging stations, or money to afford electric vehicles. So we’ll all walk or stay home in our un-air conditioned, un heated houses or take public transport to the grocery store to stand in line for whatever they might get in every day. And don’t think about getting sick. Health care will be reserved for apparatchiks. Not that we’ll be able to afford it since wealth as well as income will be taxed away so that we who worked our whole lives can pay our “fair share” of supporting bums, illegal aliens whose only ability is to breed anchor babies, Meanwhile fat cats like the wookie and her husband and fauxcahantas, Bernie, etc will gorge on wagu beef and lobster, eat ice cream from their custom freezers, Fly in their jets at taxpayer expense, and generally live like le roi. This is the future that Democrats want for us. Somehow the idiot Democrat voters think they’ll be spared and in charge - fools. The only thing dumber than a Democrat voter is a Republican who thinks we have “common ground” with the leftists who are destroying the country as fast as they can.
