Because it sends a message to life-long Democrat voters that they owe nothing to the radical Left. You can be a proud registered Democrat and still reject Democrat party politicians who are too far Left.
That’s what both Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump did. They appealed to good and honest Democrat voters - instead of insulting them, they won them over.
I did aslo when she sat in for Hannity (ugh, phony smiles and all) and the greenery was thick.

And this attitude is why we have such a divided country currently. The animosity shown on FR towards anyone who questions a viewpoint that that does not align with the group thinking is very troubling. Comments about hanging people, “taking” people out, making a list of names for trials, etc. is NOT what We the People need to govern this country.
I had joined here because I was told it was a place to discuss conservative values and ideas. Instead I have only seen and read comments that border on violence, discrimination, and out right bigotry towards our fellow Americans. And the numerous “conspiracy” theories that abound here are disconcerting as well.
I have listened to Tulsi speak and she is indeed articulate, makes her points very well and does not strike me as some flaming left wing nutjob. In other words a person/politician that seems to “get” what our issues are and could perhaps present some possible solutions. Unfortunately since she doesn’t belong to the “right party” she is condemned and belittled.
Many Americans from both partys are looking for leaders that have valid ideas on how to run this country and are frankly getting tired of the divide that is happening in this country.
I have voted Republican for my entire life...and I’m over 70, but honestly I am not prepared to do so again given the nonsense the party is putting out. I’m not going to vote Democrat either since they aren’t offering a vision I can support either.

I'm a staunch conservative, but Tulsi Gabbard is rapidly becoming my favorite Democrat. A healthy improvement from the tyrants currently in control!
She might be good for a RAT, but she is pro-abortion, anti-gun, and a Hindu.
Unless she had a literal come-to-Jesus moment, I never could vote for her.
I don't really care if she means it. I am glad that she says it. That's enough. She's not running for anything and I'm not dating her so I'm not too worried about what her secret thoughts are. She may be an opportunist but for the moment she's saying the right things so good for her.

Gabbard is simply yet another leftist who has been shoved aside by the other leftist factions that control the Democrat party. Rather than accept her demotion and languish in obscurity (or become a fake Republican), she has taken up a very unusual niche position as a "conservative" voice of opposition within the Democrat party.
I give her full credit for imagination and intelligence well beyond that of the current party leadership. As the leadership becomes embroiled in their ongoing failures, she might a real change at a top position in a replacement wave.
I do not trust her one bit, and would not vote for her.

Liberal but not a hive mind leftist. Pro green movement. Hates fossil fuels AND nuclear. If she had her way, most of us would end up living Little House on the Prairie style because as we all know, solar/wind is not sustainable.
While I agree in general that views should be observed, I have seen the Democrat party go from being wrong to being outright evil. Decent people are are leaving them. And there is plenty of room for points of view in the R party outside the whackos left. FR can get heated but that is due to the passion of beliefs.
Tulsi is WEF - so she is at best controlled opposition. She may honestly wish her party was better than it is, but she will ultimately back the Globalist agenda - every time.
