Wow. Most journalism has a “spin” but this one made me dizzy in the first paragraph.

It is a STRATEGIC reserve. It was never designed as a price control mechanism.

There is a solution to this problem that they have made - free up American energy production and it would fix the problem here and elsewhere over many months.

It is a tragedy for the American people that this administration refuses to unshackle American energy and everyone, here and abroad, is paying a major price.

The FACT is that the President has made millions from selling out America.

Agreed. It is nonsense, but not just because of the obvious appearance of corruption. Oil is NOT the fungible commodity that people assume. Oil from different sources differ chemically, and refineries are optimized for a particular kind of oil, e.g. West Texas, Urals, North Sea, etc. So, the effect of an increase in supply of one type might have very little effect on prices short term worldwide. Apart from that, even if oil were perfectly fungible, a one-time increase of 5 million barrels hardly registers in a world market that uses over 85 million barrels per day.

The fungability argument might matter if the policy of releasing tiny amounts of oil from the SPR actually reduced oil prices for US industry/consumers and our allies. But it has no significant impact on that. That makes the graft factor rise to the top of the list on why Biden did it.

Using WAPO logic, if Biden gave every drop of oil in the SPR to China for free, it would be a noble effort to reduce world oil prices. Earth to Joe: China is building up resources to attack Taiwan and battle the US, Japan, and anyone else in the Pacific that does not kowtow to them. So Biden has just equipped the PLA with a million barrels of oil to use against us. Thanks Joe. Can someone please put this line in his teleprompter: “China is not our friend. Don’t read this out loud, you moron.”

Keep pushing this BS, and maybe your new Chinese masters will make sure you will be sent to the reeducation camps last.

If it went HERE, then OUR supply would increase, and so price could drop.

Only if it was sold to a domestic producer at less than market price, in which case the US taxpayers would be getting screwed.

Imagine having to go to work at the Wapo.... get to your desk and then have to lie to yourself all day to produce this nonsense. If this was a Trump kid (smoking crack, banging hookers, having dad sell US oil to his Chinese oil co.) the WaPo would be on it all day every day. It would be antiTrump gold for years and years. Now these folks are saying theres misplaced rage and seemingly condoning it? My ragis placed exactly where needs to be. Right on the media. Right on WaPo. Egregiously disingenuous and shameless all at once. Its sad but also disgusting.

The WP should ask the American voter.
I bet the response would be a bit different.

“Crude oil is an international commodity.” — Washington Post propagandist of cuckoldry and woke-ism

Why is Iran only paying $0.30 a gallon, Saudi a little over $2 along with a lot of other oil producing countries that are not cucks (Netherlands, US, etc... are cucks)?

Only true if you don't have an abundant domestic source and again, are cucks if you do have an abundant source. Stop being cucks, drill, become independent, then export surpluses.

I’ve been saying that since 2020.
I’m sure that a lot of other astute freepers have had the same thoughts.

Agree— utter BS. Because it is WHERE the US owned Strategic Reserve Oil (that is designated for use in the defence of the US— that is for the US Military—and NOT to balance oil supply that the Executive manipulated away from domestic source in the first place!!).. it is WHERE the oil was sent that MATTERS in the first place. Because if the oil was sent to US owned refineries for US gasoline, diesel supplies it WOULD affect domestic prices in the US.

The fact is— old bastard got his 10% through Hunters contact/middleman commissions. Commissions he NEVER earned whatsoever. And... completely and utterly ILLEGAL to have done any of this. Beyond impeachment-— in the area of US Marshal arrest warrants. WAPO is a criminal propaganda wing of the demonrat party at a minimum.

NO more of this corruption. Period.
