But it’s value will drop cause it cannot prove it’s consumer base. I would guess it cost much less than 1 billion to start your own glorified “bulletin board” . I am sure Musk can manage that easily.
Lol. Twitter stock will be worthless if reneged on the deal. Everyone will know Twitter lied about its worth.
And who owns about 9% of Twitter stock and rejected an offer to be in the board of directors?
Hee. Hee.
With one billion in the contract on the line, the books and demographics of the asset (the users) have to be open to Musk. Musk knew at the beginning that 25% of users were robots of some kind.
Anyone who uses twitter can see the poor word choices repeated amongst “millions” of independent users. A million likes can be had for a few grand.
I never believed the Twit deal was going to happen.
Musk has a long record of grand announcements and publicity stunts to draw ever more attention to himself.
Once he abandons taking over Twit their stock and seditious policies will rebound.
Musk needs to walk away. Twitter reeks of lowlife scammers. When ‘political fashion’ flips soon, twitter will be exposed. It’s all sizzle and no steak- all hat - no cattle. All attitude - no substance.
And then Musk will buy back the Tesla stock he sold in order to finance his Twitter purchase, right? I mean, buying Twitter is why Musk sold Tesla shares, right?
“Sounds like a win for Twitter.”
but a total disaster for current stockholders .. who will sue twitter and their board out of existence, so no, NOT a win for twitter ...
SEC can step in over false filings.
Value will PLUMMET.
Elon can buy for pennies on dollar.
Twitter will be the laughing stock for getting caught.
Musk has them painted into a corner, IMO.
I thought the leftist twits didn’t want him upsetting their platform anyway..
“Value will PLUMMET.”
I get that but my guess is that Twitter is one of those companies where the owner(s) doesn’t care if it loses money. Like the NYT and Wa Post, even CNN. The value to the owner(s) is controlling the news narrative and message. They don’t give an F if they have to pump in millions of $ a year. The avg stockholder may care about value loss but the major players may not.
Yep, this makes the most sense.
Hey Musk! Just walk away from that poison and start a new company to replace them. Perhaps you could even join with Trump on his effort.
He sold the shares because they were coming up for maturity and he didnt want to pay the tax on that. But it was a good bit of spreadin around money. Musk will trash it if they make him. He would love to have the computer power for Starlink.
“Twitter is such a nightmare I wish he’d buy it and just shut it down and take the loss. People only end up screwing themselves on there most of the time.”
Or... here’s a novel thought... maybe people could take personal responsibility for what they say.
Not much for free speech, eh?
“Musk has them painted into a corner, IMO.”
Yep, he has put them on the spot. I have enjoyed this show. :)
Musk said if the Twitter deal falls through he would use the money to buy the FBI.
But Hillary said she doesn’t want to sell it.
