Johnny sued Amber for defamation. Her allegations resulted in him losing assignments in the movie biz.
“Sounds like a couple of Hollywood types having a messy divorce situation.”
Well, the divorce was settled years ago. Depp agreed to pay her 7 million plus absorbing all their community expenses and paying all of Heard’s tax liability on all of that as well.
Then, subsequent to that, Heard wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post where she held herself up as a representative of victims of domestic and sexual violence, implying that Depp was the perpetrator, without actually naming him. He sued for defamation, saying that he never abused her, and in fact, she was the one who abused him.
The evidence in the case seems to weigh very much in favor of Depp’s version of events, with multiple audio recordings of Heard admitting that she herself initiated violence regularly, while he was always the one “running away” to escape her.
If you believe in justice... just like Rittenhouse, the tragedy of what the woke crowd can do is an abomination. The mee too movement maybe just be dead if JD wins. Combine fatal attraction and gone girls and I present to you Amber heard. Men may finally see justice today.
He sued her for publishing what appeared to be a thinly-veiled account of abuse in the Washington Post.
She counter-sued.
Johnny sued Amber first for $50 mil, and then she counter-sued for 100 mil. The original lawsuit was that Amber did an op-ed that tanked Johnny’s career, but it was already on the rocks IMHO by his drunken slovenly behavior that was well known at the time. Amber Heard was just a symptom of a litany of bad choices. Both lawsuits were apparently rolled into one, and this verdict pending any appeals should wrap this baby up.
Good grief, what a horror show.
“Distractions.”
I don’t think it’s a distraction at all. The case has become something of a bellwether to determine if our society will continue to “believe all women” and have unequal justice in the courts (and court of public opinion), or if we are ready to admit that, yes, women make false accusations for their own benefit, or out of malice, and men do deserve some protection against that.
Maybe that isn’t an important issue to you, but that is an important issue to me and quite a few other men in our society.
“Bailiff... Slap her wee wee”
Americans love their soap operas, light and entertaining escape from their lives that tend to be filled with chaos, nasty people, cutthroat politics, undermining co-workers, inept bosses, lunatic politicians and the overall decline of America. It's an escape from the decline of America, totally unserious and harmless distraction. It's also a reflection on the shallow thought that people are comfortable with.
“Wasting the court’s precious time...”
If that was the case, the judge would have thrown it out.
I have, just for the entertainment value
3pm in what time zone?
Eastern.
And the verdict is.....they’re both nuts. Next.
Thanks for the summary. If that is correct, then I guess I’ll root for the Johnny Depp guy. Making false allegations of domestic abuse is despicable.
Apparently pledge and donate mean the same thing......at least that’s what the gold diggers dictionary definition is
Toxic mutually abusive marriage. Drugs, alcohol, lots of yelling and breaking things. Johnny for the most part on the physical receiving end, but Amber telling everyone otherwise. She bad mouthed him to all the right people, he mostly just took it until jobs all vanished and he snapped and decided it was time to defend himself.
I’ll give him credit, he never denied he had/has drug and alcohol problems, that he was also verbally abusive to her.
She on the other hand said everything she could to paint herself 100% the victim, and when confronted with her own poor actions, lied, denied, ignored, or re-directed them.
On a side note, what’s been more interesting is Johnny’s lawyers have been excellent, and Ambers have been a train wreck.
I disagree very strongly.
Some women have been getting away with this crap for far too long.
I was arrested on false charges once and it is was NOT something you want to go through.
THANK GOD I had an iron clad alibi - I was in my lawyers office ON THE PHONE WITH THE JUDGE setting a court date, at the time she claimed it happened. Instant case dismissed and arrest for her, for filing false charges.
But before we got that far I was forged to move out of my house, I lost my job, and car, and had to pay thousands to rent an apartment.
So the all-in verdict could end up being one if the two paying the other $.01?
