Jason Kenney is stepping down as leader of the United Conservative Party and premier of Alberta.
Only 51.4 percent of the more than 34,000 mail-in ballots cast in the leadership review voted to keep Kenney in charge of the United Conservative Party he helped form, party president Cynthia Moore and Chief Returning Officer Rick Orman announced via livestream Wednesday.
Kenney said it's clear the party wants a leadership election.
"It's clear that the past two years were deeply divisive for our province, our party and our caucus, but it is my fervent hope that in the months to come we all move on past the division of COVID," Kenney said in his address after the results were announced, adding he's proud of the work his team has done...

A lot may have changed up there but when I worked up in Alberta in the late 80s Calgary was totally conservative.

Calgary and Edmonton kept on growing diversifying but outside of the big cities the population is decidedly different and conservative like Montana or Idaho’s rural population would be.

He didn’t unapologetically look after Albertans as much as he should have. Albertans need a premier that is no longer willing to just unconditionally work with the rest of Canada.
Albertans are done in believing their country.
I’ll be supporting Brian Jean if he runs for leadership, which is more than likely.
