They’re on the frontlines because they have to be and their army’s repeated inability to protect their HQs is definitely a sign of weakness. They have lousy communications and a top-heavy officer corps that has been crippled by corruption. By taking out the leadership the Ukrainians are leaving large contingents of the Russian army isolated and directionless, even if only temporarily. If the Russians can’t coordinate then they can’t use their advantages effectively and that’s one of the reasons this war hasn’t ended already.

It is not all propaganda. The Russian army simply does not have the logistics to prosecute an invasion against determined, well armed defenders. They are now involved in a debilitating quagmire. If the Ukrainians somehow stop the Russian Navy’s ability to land troops and supplies in southeastern Ukraine from the Black Sea, the Russian invasion would collapse.
Zelensky should issue a list of conditions for Russia’s surrender just to tick off Putin.
