We can wage war on Central America, Iraq, Libya, Vietnam under humanity imperatives but, Nyet for the Ukrainian people?

If we can wage war through sanctions , why would we ever go to physical aggression?

Portman is a perfect example of what the swamp actually is. By his using the podium against Trump for the Jan 6 issue, he empowered the Biden administration to use Trump as an excuse for their terrible work after and during the issue.

The point of Portman’s effort was nothing but conjecture yelled loudly for everyone to hear trying to assist the removal of Trump to keep him from running again at a later date. And that’s the only outcome that could have been accomplished trying an ex-president for a crime when he was presumed innocent until proven guilty and Portman compromised the truth with his opinion which will constitute only one vote. And either house of congress is far from innocent themselves on a number of issues.

Portman is one of the reasons Trump wanted to get rid of the riffraff in congress and get the rule back into the hands of the people. I equate Trump to the Alamo. There were just too many combatant soldiers when the ones inside the mission tried to get him captured, also.

The Ukes seem to want to fight. So I say give them the planes. No sweat off of my back.

“LOL. Transferring MIGS to Ukraine is NOT DIRECT INVOLVMENT. Even Putin would probably complain but agree.”

These planes still haven’t reach Ukraine?

Its like a game of “hot potato” or is it just bureaucratic incompetence?

These people want to put Americans in harms way to defend one of the most corrupt places on earth.

Ukraine or DC?

When you condense all of Zelenkys speeches what were the overriding requests he focused on from the beginning - Nato Membership and No fly Zone /Fighter jets.

He falsely assumed he was entitled to both and his reasoning was - because he was fighting a war - because he wants Ukraine to be European. Neither of whichh qualifies a country to have those.

I never heard Walter Cronkite once assert that this effort to reprovision the North Vietnam with weapon etc. could start WWIII.

In large measure we went out of our way to asure that we would not take it as a causus belli for WWIII.

Well the practical side is the Russians have destroyed most of Ukraine’s air bases, where will maintenance , parts, and fuel come from to keep them flying, too little too late. Also is can still be conceived as NATO supplying jets and engaging.

The United States Department of Defense would be supplying those planes to the Ukrainians. That is why Poland wants it done that way.

That is DIRECT INVOLVEMENT.

Because.....we don’t want to get into a war with a nuclear armed state over a conflict in a country where we have no vital national interests?

Having lost the "mandate of heaven" we presume to tell the rest of the world how to live, play policeman and take on all of its problems. It's a big like a local gang member hearing the Confessional.

Exactly and they killed 50,000 Americans in Vietnam.

We should have waged war in any of those places. The CIA and it’s covert operations have put us in places we never should have been in. In the last 70 plus years the CIA has been behind the overthrew of over 80 governments. We have made messes that will never be cleaned up.

Best way of putting it. We have no business being involved in this...except that we are, because Zelensky (who has spent much of his time violating treaties and provoking the Russians) thought that Biden had his back. Biden, knowing the backstory of corruption, most of it through the Biden family, tried to laugh it off, made some stupid provocative remarks, tried to back off, and now has gotten us into this up to our eyeballs.

Obviously, neither the Russian people nor the Ukrainian people want war, the Russians are “doing badly” because they really haven’t attacked because even the Russians don’t want Ukraine - one of the most corrupt countries in Europe, but that’s typical of border or buffer countries - but Biden and the US press are trying to provoke them into doing so.

“Cui bono,” the Latin for “who benefits?”. I’d say nobody, in this case, but obviously our esteemed leaders believe that they’ll benefit (if only through consolidating power), so I guess it’s all good.

I repeat myself:

I watched as a kid the resupplying of North Vietnam by USSR and China. I never heard Walter Cronkite assert, not even once, that this effort to reprovision North Vietnam with weapons etc. could start WWIII.

The Russians seem to have backed off a bit on the EU membership issue. If Zelensky can get a settlement where Ukraine accepts a Finland WWII treaty type of neutrality but gets EU membership. Ukraine would benefit greatly, recover quickly. Russia would be stuck in am mire of distrust and suspicion for decades and would suffer economically for it. Ukraine might even be able to pass it economically.

Except we do have vital interests there, it’s a long list.

Sadly, some of you are going to learn that the hard way.

Putin can do a LOT to Western Europe through Ukraine. And he’s going to.
