Yes, but also Ukrainians have phones and are acting as spotters on the ground. Russian troops can not move one inch convertly.
They launched their attack at the beginning of mud season, which is much worse for mobility. Mud was what stopped operations on the Eastern Front in WW2, much more so than cold. Frozen earth gets hard and let’s vehicles move cross country and use unpaved roads.
The biggest problem that the Russian military has is that they don’t know the truth on what they are facing with the people in Ukraine. They expected to be fighting a bunch of neo-nazis who the people despise and yearn to have liberation; and their loving Russian brothers have come to save them.
They would’ve done better if they really understood the truth. Then they would be ready for facing millions of insurgents who now hate them dearly and want nothing more than to fight the Russians hard to kick their army out of Ukraine.
They're bodybuilders meant to look scary to intimidate Russian civilians and headless chickens dying in droves when against military force.
Maybe the Taliban can sell all of our gear we left to the Ukrainians.
I have no seen one grunt on either side equipped with night vison equipment......
I dont think the Ukrainians are brilliant, but they are good enough and numerous enough to make the misbegotten initial Russian plan fail.
Its likely that, at this point, there are many more Ukrainians in action than Russians, between the mobilizing army and their militias. Most are infantry. The Russians have little infantry. This makes Russian lines porous and their logistics vulnerable. Roadbound columns of vehicles are vulnerable to encirclement and ambush, against light infantry with good antitank weapons.
The Russians can win this, given time, but they will need many more infantry.
The spring is the worst in Ukraine and eastern Poland. The entire area becomes a big.
Ukraine already exhausted its military resources, which were meagre in the first place.
But they have enough to launch guerrilla tactics.
This is true. All the video I have seen is in daylight though, so maybe its in their packs? Its a funny thing given al that ex-Soviet and Russian made night vision stuff thats been on ebay for the last couple of decades.
Their soldiers will have urban battle experience and will be more effective for the next invasion.
Daily Mail has jumped the shark with their coverage of this war. They sound like The Ukrainian Ministry of Propaganda.
I dont think the Ukrainians have exhausted their resources, they have only just begun mobilizing. My impression is their numbers are increasing rapidly. What they haven’t got much of is offensive punch, armor and firepower.
Guerilla tactics are better put as light infantry tactics.
The Ukrainians have mostly fought defensively so far, with a couple of exceptions, one is the counterattack at Kiev that broke the initial encirclement. It remains to be seen if the Ukrainians can counterattack substantially and overrun some of the vulnerable Russian concentrations.
They dont wear night vision equipment during the daytime...!
There were tons of comedies made about WW2.

Their helmets are not equipped for the gear also outr troops were them during the day in the up position.
I think they were wasted in a hopeless assault against the airfields around Kiev, and then used up in street fighting against its northern suburbs. And that, I think, was because they were the only substantial group of infantry available to the Russians at the time.
It remains to be seen how good they are if correctly employed.
That is sort of my thinking. Russia looking this weak/poor? Keeping things moving forward on Ukraine, but just enough. Doing atrocities in the cities as if goading and testing NATO and America to intervene.
Recruiting fighters from Syria?
Something is way off regarding the Russian military or our own intelligence is so flawed, we had no idea Russia truly collapsed during Covid.
It is like Putin is purposely appearing weak to tempt into thinking how easy it would be to stop him. Yet, the longer we allow this to go on, the more difficult it becomes to stop him.
Why does Russian military appear so inept?
Why is Putin even doing this?
Why no control of the airspace by Russia?
Putin showing he is not concerned about civilians killed.
If one looks at all these baffling questions we are asking, it starts looking more like a trap for the West.
Russians getting killed in huge numbers for invading another country is hilarious, when you consider that Putin says everything is going as planned.
The Russian military will never live this down.
