This is why I stopped going to the doctor a long time ago. I worked in hospitals, clinics, and at home as a transcriptionist for doctors and lawyers. My trust in the medical establishment, as I saw doctors just playing along with the scams foisted on them by A) insurance providers and B) BigPharma, had completely drizzled away by some point in the late 1990s and never came back.
I objected to and tried to warn the public about 0bmacare in my own limited way and even though a relatively small number of people are following me at any given time, I judge from the way I started getting persecuted (by absolute strangers) over my challenges to socialized medicine that some of what I was saying was making a difference.
I can’t tell you to stop going to the doctor like I did, of course. If you have a good doctor that you trust implicitly, that’s great. However, judging from a lot of the stories of medical issues that I read on this board - some related to SARS-CoV2 and some not - many members are also starting to distrust any doctor.

You don’t want to mess around with stents.
I would say “go to the nearest ER” and claim you have chest pain but you don’t want to do that.
Have you tried calling “ask-a-nurse” or one of those hotlines?
You didn’t say how much aspirin you take on a daily basis. Aspirin is better than nothing. Just take half an aspirin if you’re unsure about dosing. If you have an allergy to it, then - sorry, but I would say go to the ER. Don’t wait until you actually have chest pain! lol If there’s an “urgent care center” near you (better than ER) try calling your current cardiologist and ask him/her to give you a referral there. Lie and say you have chest pain; don’t go into a lot of detail. Have a list of your previous prescriptions ready when you visit the urgent care or the ER. Don’t bug the cardiologist about it if he doesn’t want to do it. (I know this is dishonest but lying isn’t wrong if you’re dealing with evil, untrustworthy people.)
Why did your cardiologist refuse to Rx you anything? Do they want you to use a generic or something?
