I for one will not forget what these greedy SOBs have done. Like price gouging for plywood prior to a hurricane.

Last eight months. Hell, go to a dealer around any military base over the last thirty years if you really want to see gouging. Now the manufacturer gives a damn?

No thanks, I don’t intend to buy high and sell low. I will wait, years if necessary for this market to rebalance.

You can thank Republican Free Traitors for offshoring the micro processor/memory chip manufacturing to Asia. F them all.

Same or similar to the De-ionized water for Diesel’s.

One thing could be added to any from the 1920 to to 2022 no electronics no mechanical no cpu no chips and the car wouldn’t produce any emissions only water.

HYDROGEN FUEL

Oh wait it’s to simple and think of all the people it would put out of work in China.

"HYDROGEN FUEL"

Hydrogen engine or fuel cell.

To store liquid hydrogen you need to cool to -423 degrees.

You have generate hydrogen, it doesn't come out of thin air.

As you can see below, the energy density per liter is very low. Even lower for gas storage in cars at 5000 to 10,000 psi.

BMW and others use fuel cells works great more are moving to it.
It’s the only answer electric care are not the answer still have to burn coal or natural gas for the electricity.

Where do they get the hydrogen?

You’ve got one vehicle of a particular type in stock and four or five buyers who want it. Inform all buyers of the situation and solicit offers. Let the buyers decide if they wish to go over list.

That’s what’s been happening in the housing market with strong demand and low inventory.

I enjoy your energy density graph and astute comments!

Now put the battery technology alternatives on it. ( Hint: need a bigger graph and probably a log scale).

And, during the conventional ( combustible) vehicle cycle from refueling to refueling you are only averaging carrying around 1/2 of the reducing reactant and none of the oxidizing reactant, unlike battery power. (Unless it’s a rocket.)

Not carrying both of the reactants makes for slower energy release and lower temperatures in a catastrophic accident too.

Your graph and explanation, and my supplement, also supports the conclusion, if / when we do get cheap safe nuclear ( possibly fusion) power and fossil fuel becomes scarce/expensive enough to consider H2 for power vs fossil fuel, we should synthesize hydrocarbon fuel ( no longer “fossil”) ( such as gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, etc.) instead of hydrogen. Unlike H2, they have reasonable melting and vaporization temperatures and density.

That happy circumstance is due to Carbon’s (C-H and C-C, and C=O vs H-O) bond energies and hydrocarbon melting/vaporization points ( which are a function of molecular weights and intermolecular forces) which are kind of in the sweet spot.)
