I have been to his out-of-state fundraisers and his big pitch is that he claims he is the only one who can beat a Democrat.

To openly praise Childs removes that arrow from their quiver. If Biden goes further Left then the nominee’s positions can be attacked with less fear of the kneejerk “ you’re a racist” response.
