The Mark 18 torpedo was a US copy of the German electric G7e torpedo. It worked fine.
You're thinking of the Mark 14 (subs) and Mark 15 (surface ships) which tended to run deeper than settings, and not explode on contact.
Got it, thanks.
Yet again more dumb logic from you. Just a superficial thinker, I guess.
No one is asking me to invest in the Pig. Everything we do is going to anything else, not the Pig.
You are 100% correct, except that it was Nov. Last night there was another thread on this event and I searched for the event and quickly found the story I linked to, and did not think if there was a duplicate event (I mean how many time can this have occurred already?), plus it was late and I did not notice the ski ramp. Sorry but thanks for the correction!
Actually, they do. They fly both B and C models
Got it, thanks.
Hi.
My swag is the a/c is at the bottom of the S. China sea.
5.56mm
So you have no sources beyond your own personal opinion?
OK, that’s a more sound logic than my silly statistics and references.
Thank you for the correction.
The U.S. Marine Corps’ F-35C and The 5,000-Mile Strike Mission
I used to walk past pilots in their flight gear who just completed night traps and were returning to the Ready Room, and I remember seeing sweat stains in the armpits and on the middle of the back.
Probably the crotch too...:)
“The Marine Corps doesn’t have F-35Cs.”
Yes, they do!
Got it, thanks.
You would appear to have a very good SWAG.
From the comments section of the original article at the War Zone:
The Navy's Seventh Fleet said in a statement the F-35C occurred "had a landing mishap and impacted the flight deck and subsequently fell to the water during routine flight operations.""The pilot safely ejected the aircraft and was recovered by helicopter," the statement added.
And the comments over at The War Zone seem to agree with 2CAVTrooper that the most likely scenario was a snapped arrestor cable. That would have scrubbed enough speed off of the F-35C so that it couldn't get back in the air again, but still have too much speed for the wheel brakes to stop the aircraft before it ran out of deck.
Got it, thanks.
a decent fighter with many unique capabilities

With 216 rounds and 4 inboard missiles that currently are not on par with ranges of opponents BVR missiles. Its “stealth” is only front view, else its RCS is quite visible, even to opponents without AESA radar, and is really a bomb truck, not a air-superiority fighter.
Not to mention spending an inordinate amount of time in maintenance hangers (aka, Hanger Queens and spare parts) for very big dollars.
Back in the day we supported marine carrier quals off the coast of CA.
Lots of excitement!
Hence the "S" in JSF.
