Who needs it all when it comes with a broken corrupt society and ruined infrastructure? Also the people it can’t trust after 30 years of relentless anti-Russian indoctrination.
Not to mention that Russia has more land than it can work on and beats its own record for agri-export every year. There is no shortage of iron, Antonov is dead, there is currently sufficient port capacity in Russia proper.
We will see, but I worry that I’m correct.
I can’t exclude a swift operation to pacify Ukraine, similar to that took place in Georgia in 2008. It will last no more than a few days and target exclusively Ukrainian military infrastructure with the goal to inflict the most damage possible and nullify its offensive capabilities.
The condition is a renewed Ukrainian attack on Donbas rebels.
I am sure that the Ukrainian military is reluctant to pull the trick, hence the chaotic revolving door on top of the military command by Zelensky recently. The military isn’t that stupid, they remember Ilovaysk and Debaltsevo. Politicians are increasingly yielding to Blinken who wants it.
