It’s pretty dumb for presidents to go visit after a disaster or tragedy. It’s a PR stunt for them, and it costs the taxpayers a bundle. In the case of natural disasters, they just get in the way of the local authorities trying to clean things up and help people.

Some may be strong supporters of Trump, but are still in shock from the slaughter, and not in the right mood to receive any visitors outside the family for a while.
